JetBlue Airways has appointed retired Gen. Stanley A. McChrystal to the New York-based corporation’s board of directors. McChrystal was one of the nation’s most accomplished military leaders.

Four Canadians and two Mexicans were killed in a natural gas explosion in a Mexican hotel on Sunday. Among the dead is one 9-year-old Canadian boy, The Canadian Press reports. The incident took place at the Grand Riviera Princess hotel located in Playa del Carmen on the Caribbean coast.

Hilton Worldwide announced that Anibal Flecha has been named safety and security manager, Latin America and Caribbean, Hilton Worldwide. Mr. Flecha will report directly to Paul Frederick, director of global safety and security, Hilton Worldwide, and will be based out of the Miami Regional Office.

A cruise ship stranded offshore after a fire in the engine room cut its power supply is being towed slowly into a Mexican port, but it will not arrive until at least Wednesday night, the US coastguard said today. A fire which broke out in the engine room left passengers and crew on the cruise ship stranded.
