Spirit Airlines has appointed Tony Lefebvre as its senior vice president and chief operating officer, effective immediately. Lefebvre had previously served in the position of senior vice president –airports, customer service and in-flight. Lefebvre replaces Kenneth McKenzie, who has accepted a position at Airbus North America.

The government of the Cayman Islands signed an agreement with a Chinese developer to finance and build a cruise port in George Town, Grand Cayman. The memorandum of understanding between Premier McKeeva Bush and the China Harbour Engineering Co., which has not yet been signed by the Cayman Islands Port Authority, calls for a feasibility study by July with a view to beginning the project in November.
The Baleària ferry Pinar del Rio will be running a new fast service this summer from Miami port to Bimini Island, The Bahamas. The fast ferry must now pass the inspections carried out by the authorities before beginning its service, which is scheduled for July.
