Fiona Jeffery is to leave her role as chairman of World Travel Market after 26 years to pursue other interests in the global travel and tourism industry. She will continue her role as chairman of Just a Drop, the international water charity she founded in 1998.

Thomas Cook has confirmed it will sell its North American travel business to Red Label Vacations in a deal worth £3.4 million. The business includes the tour operator Sunquest and the 60-branch My Travel retail chain in Canada.

For the seventh consecutive year, Bermudian hotelier and owner of Coco Reef Resorts, John Jefferis, accepted the award for “Caribbean’s Leading Hotel” at the World Travel Awards (WTA) on behalf of his property in Tobago. The WTA awards program, now in its 19th year, highlights and rewards those travel brands that have made the greatest contribution to the industry over the past year.
