The twelfth edition of the Havana Biennial, an eminently cultural event, will be held from May 22-June 22, 2015. Once again, Paradiso (www.paradiso.cu), ARTEX’s agency specializing in cultural tourism, is the official incoming agency of this event, which already has over 30 years of experience under its belt.

Tobago’s Magdalena Grand Beach & Golf Resort has named Sandy Bell Rojas its new director of sales and marketing. Bell will oversee efforts in all international markets for the 178-room hotel, according to the property. Bell Rojas said she was excited to be working with the entire Magdalena Grand team.

During the closing ceremony, the attendees also honored Makoto Sasaki and Japanese duet Sones de Corazones. Makoto has participated in “Pepe Sanchez Festival” over the past 15 years and he is one of the most popular foreign figures in the Festival, especially because of his fidelity to the authentic and popular Cuban trova.

A shark has killed a 52-year-old German tourist swimming off an Egyptian Red Sea resort in the city of al-Qusair, said the BBC. The aquatic predator reportedly bit off the man’s leg at the knee.
