Cancun._ The year 2001 was an active 12-month term as far as the building of tourist infrastructure in the Caribbean Mexican State of Quintana Roo was concerned. In all, 27 hotels were built and the region relies on a grand total of 262 establishments scattered in Cancun, Mujeres Island, Cozumel and the Isle of Holbox, among other sites available for visitors. The investments concerted last year have put this Mexican state right on the map as one major world-class tourist destination.

Curazao._ After a $6 million-plus facelift that extended over six months of toilsome work, the Netherlands Antilles’ first SuperClubs facility went back in operation last December 28. The Curazao’s resort is outfitted with three swimming pools, Jacuzzis, restaurants, casino, fitness center, a skateboard wall and the island nation’s first-ever ice skating ring.
