Jamaica is the Caribbean island with the most resorts on Travel + Leisure magazine’s 13th annual World’s Best Awards readers’ survey, with five hotels named to the list of Top 25 Hotels, Caribbean, Bermuda and the Bahamas.
Australian online travel group Webjet Ltd. reported a stronger than expected 134 percent rise in annual profit. Webjet MD David Clarke said the 134 percent increase in net profit after tax includes a one-off boost of $2.4 million tax credit. Excluding that gain, net profit was up 68 percent to $6.15 million.
Travel Impressions grew its MGM Mirage Group Hotels offerings with the addition of five properties to its portfolio, bringing the total to 12 hotels and resorts. Tourism officials on the Caribbean island of Grenada say they are concerned about dog owners snatching starfish out of the sea and throwing them like flying discs for their dogs to catch.
