Westin Hotels will enter the Dutch Caribbean market with its 310-room Westin St. Maarten Dawn Beach Resort & Spa, slated for a fall 2006 grand opening.
The facility will also include a 99-unit condominium complex, a spa, a casino and meetings and event venues.
As the competition increases to lure custom back in the travel sector, Hilton Caribbean and Coral by Hilton are welcoming past guests back with a $100 credit on weekend stays.
Through November 26, past guests will receive a $100 resort credit at all Coral by Hilton properties in the Dominican Republic, and a $100 dining credit at Hilton Caribbean hotels.

Regent International Hotels announced earlier this week the opening of its first luxury hotel in China. The Regent Shanghai, with spectacular architecture and design, premier location and world-class facilities, is Shanghai´s newest luxury landmark.
The 511-room hotel is owned by Summit Property Development Co. and managed by Carlson Hotels Asia Pacific.

Baha Mar will establish a new blueprint for resort development, representing the largest, single hospitality investment in the region, and creating a unique resort metropolis in terms of its setting, design, operation, and services.
The Coco Palms Resort on Kauai, Hawaii, will reopen after a head-to-toe restoration, scheduled for completion in 2007. The resort was heavily damaged by Hurricane Iniki in 1992 and has since then been closed.
The property is owned by Petrie Ventures and the Weiser Cos. and is home to a zoo and the Coco Palms Chapel, used in the Elvis Presley film “Blue Hawaii,” which was shot on the property in 1961, as well as the movie “Miss Sadie Thompson” in 1953.
