Accor has signed a landmark agreement for six new Ibis hotels in Sichuan province, the largest single expansion of Accor´s economy brand in one province of China. The six hotels will be developed at a cost of $150 million.
Accor is accelerating development of its economy-hotel sector throughout Asia Pacific with the opening of two Ibis hotels in Bangkok, two in Ibis in Australia, one in New Zealand and a new Ibis for the Korean capital of Seoul.
The Atlantis resort on Paradise Island in the Bahamas is undergoing a $1 billion expansion project that will increase its guest rooms from 2,317, to 3,367, spread over an additional 75 acres by spring 2007.
The expansion will include a 600-room, all-suite, 21-story tower and a 450-unit condominium hotel, plus two pools, access to two beaches, a fitness facility, restaurants, another casino, expanded meetings facilities, a host of new sports-based attractions and the Caribbean´s largest water park, including a dolphin education and interaction center.
W Hotels Worldwide has reopened its two New Orleans hotels –the 423-room W New Orleans and the 98-room W French Quarter- that were shuttered in the wake of Hurricane Katrina last fall.
The chain said both hotels suffered wind and water damage to guest rooms, public space and corridors. However, after six months of reconstruction, the hotels have been restored to their original state.
The Hyatt Dorado Beach Resort & Country Club opened its new Plantation Club House and Pavilion, Zafra Restaurant & Lounge and the upgraded Sugarcane and Pineapple golf courses, previously known as the North and South courses.
The $3 million upgrade includes six new holes, four redesigned holes, the addition of a driving range and new lakes and rivers.

NH Hotel is completing an XML interface with Bookings that will enable the Spanish chain to automatically send rates and real availability information to Bookings without manual intervention for all the hotels of the company.
Bookings can then generate reservations for these hotels through their extensive partner network and search marketing activities. This agreement will further strengthen NH global visibility, both in Europe and further a-field.
