Hilton Worldwide signed a management agreement with El Hotel Pilar, S.A. for a new 170-room hotel in Pilar, Argentina. The hotel will form part of a mixed-use development featuring 130 residential condominium units. The Hilton Pilar Hotel & Residences is currently under construction and expected to open in March 2015. The property will be Hilton Hotels & Resorts’ third and Hilton Worldwide’s fifth hotel in Argentina. The three-story property will feature an upscale lobby that integrates the hotel's restaurant, two bars and business center.

Sandals Resorts International will refund the portion of their guests’ vacations disrupted this past weekend by Hurricane Sandy, said Gordon “Butch” Stewart, the company’s chairman. Sandals properties in Jamaica and the Bahamas suffered damage during the hurricane, and the company temporarily suspended arrivals at Sandals Grande Riviera in Ocho Rios, and delayed the scheduled reopening of Beaches Ocho Rios. “Widespread landscaping damage” was also reported at the Sandals Emerald Bay resort in Great Exuma.
By Michelle Kantrow Hyatt Hotels Corporation and Island Hospitality Partners, LLC, a joint venture of PRISA Group and McConnell Valdes Consulting, announced Monday the start of construction of the new Hyatt House San Juan, which is expected to open in fall 2014.
According to Incentive Travel & Corporate Meetings, DoubleTree by Hilton announced a strategic franchise agreement marking Hilton Worldwide's return to the Las Vegas Strip after 14 years. Under the terms of the agreement, Tropicana Las Vegas will continue to own and operate all 1,600 guestrooms in the resort, which recently completed a $200 million renovation. The hotel's new name will be the Tropicana Las Vegas - a DoubleTree by Hilton, effective January 2013.
