A private equity group plans to invest $8 million in upgrading the Nassau Palm Resort after completing the downtown Nassau property’s acquisition on Friday. Renovation work on the 183-room Nassau Palm, which has been for sale for three years, is projected to create 75 construction jobs, plus around 70 permanent posts once the hotel reopens.
The Dominican Republic’s Casa del Campo resort is offering a “Sale into Summer” promotion featuring up to 45 percent off published rates. The resort is also offering all-inclusive stays for two kids 12 and younger at rates starting at $201 per person, per night through August 31 under “Summer Escape” program.

Marriott International is bringing its AC Hotels brand to the U.S. and Americas to fill what it believes is an industry void among millennial consumers. The brand, which currently has a portfolio of 79 hotels in Spain, Italy, Portugal and France, will launch in such metropolitan markets as New York, Miami and San Diego.
Ladera resort in Soufriere, St. Lucia, opened its new complex of suites at Paradise Ridge, set 1,100 feet above the sea. The suites are accessed from the main part of the resort by a landscaped footpath.
