AMResorts AMResorts signed its 40th contract this week, extending the hospitality powerhouse’s reach to Panama and securing its sixth property in just one year. The announcement was made by President and CEO of Apple Leisure Group, Alejandro Zozaya.

President and CEO of Apple Leisure Group, Alejandro Zozaya, announced that its subsidiary, AMResorts, signed contracts for two outstanding properties: Zoëtry® Villa Rolandi Isla Mujeres Cancun – a 35-room property in Isla Mujeres, Cancun, Mexico and Dreams® Buenaventura Panama Resort & Spa– a new 450-room resort under development just outside of Panama City, Panama.

Journese continues to grow its Central America portfolio with the addition of Panama as the newest destination. The destination launch includes rewards for travel advisors and clients.

Hilton Worldwide Hilton Worldwide announced that it has signed a management agreement with Inmobiliaria Cidras SA de CV for a 227-room DoubleTree by Hilton hotel in Veracruz, Mexico. Upon completion of extensive renovations, the Novomar Hotel is expected to reopen as DoubleTree by Hilton Veracruz during the first half of 2015. 

Compared to January 2013, the Americas region reported a 2.4 percent increase in occupancy to 52.5 percent, a 2 percent increase in average daily rate to $112 and a 4.4 percent increase in revenue.
