Hilton Worldwide is planning to operate the new build Hilton Garden Inn Port-au-Prince Louverture Airport. Scheduled to open in 2016, this new Hilton Garden Inn hotel in Haiti will introduce the Hilton Garden Inn brand to the Caribbean and debut the company’s first hotel in Haiti.

The Radisson Hotel Trinidad, formerly the Capital Plaza and before that the Crowne Plaza, opened on April 8 in downtown Port of Spain following renovations and upgrades. The 243-room hotel is Radisson's fifth in the Caribbean.

InterContinental Hotels Group has announced the latest addition to the growing Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts portfolio with the signing of the Crowne Plaza Panama Airport hotel. The new-build, 126-room hotel is expected to open in February 2015 and will be the second Crowne Plaza hotel in Panama.

Riu Hotels and Resorts launched Riu Specialist, its first certification program for U.S. travel agents. A 115-room Holiday Inn Express hotel has opened in the Condado district of San Juan. It is the fourth InterContinental Hotels Group property in Puerto Rico. The others are the recently renovated InterContinental San Juan, the Holiday Inn Mayaguez & Tropical Casino and the Holiday Inn Ponce & Tropical Casino.
