Jamaica’s Tourism Minister, Hon. Edmund Bartlett says the Jamaica Rum Festival will broaden the country’s market by adding value to the Gastronomy Tourism product offerings.
On the heels of another record-breaking year with total arrivals exceeding 4.3 million visitors, the Jamaica Tourist Board is celebrating the successful conclusion of the annual Caribbean Travel Marketplace. 
This new gathering of Xantar will offer more than 200 food and wine experiences –an average of four activities per hour- and will feature three classrooms that will welcome the participation of chefs from nine countries.
WTM London 2018, the event where ideas arrive, will generate a record £3.4 billion in travel and tourism industry deals, surpassing the figure of £3.1 billion from WTM London 2017.
The manufacturers and exporters said that the Government’s resolve to use imported memorabilia for promoting brand Jamaica at events is damaging local businesses.

The United Nations World Tourism Organization and the Basque Culinary Centre have signed an agreement for the holding of the fifth World Forum on Gastronomy Tourism. The event is set to take place in San Sebastian, Spain, on May 2nd-3rd.

The latest edition of the forum is supported by the ministry of industry, commerce and tourism of Spain, the Basque government, the provincial council of Gipuzkoa and the city of San Sebastián.
