The Salvadoran Tourism Ministry opened Monday the First National Tourism Forum in an effort to make all sectors linked to the travel industry join hands and come up with a comprehensive development strategy.
“The objective of the forum is to establish both priorities and needs for the sake of the sector’s sustainable development through a hands-on and harmonic process. This process will require a through assessment of all strategies based on a number of guidelines,” the Central American country’s Tourism Ministry informed in a press release.
The University of Commercial Sciences, under the auspices of the Pan American Confederation of Hotels, Gastronomy and Tourism, will hold the Tenth Congress on Tourism and Hotels August 19 and 20 in Managua under a slogan reading "Tourism: Challenges of Today and Tomorrow."
The event will gather over 400 attendants likened to the travel industry in the Central American region, as well as a number of high-profile institutions such as colleges, hotels, restaurants, tour operators, travel agencies, airlines, investors, tourism chambers and many others.
The Third National Tourism Summit will take place in July 15 and 16 in Chile´s Viña del Mar under a slogan reading "Culture and Technology in the Globalization Era."
Planners are expecting a turnout of approximately some 500 entrepreneurs, let alone countless national and foreign experts that will focus on different topics and engage in exchanges on expertise, new ideas and experiences.
In order to come up with a solid strategy aimed at advertising Central America as a travel multi-destination choice, the region’s tourism ministers will huddle in El Salvador next July 23.
The gathering will also serve as a perfect setting to sit down with immigration authorities and assess drawbacks to sustainable development of the leisure industry in the region. Attendants will also find ways to bring down barriers to free traveling in the area, Salvadoran Tourism Minister Luis Cardenal said.
The Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) and Aruba have begun planning for the 27th annual Caribbean Tourism Conference (CTC-27). This year´s conference program will run from Monday October 18th to Wednesday 20th, with the opening ceremony set for Sunday evening, October 17th.
Under the theme “Caribbean Tourism: Driving Business in the Global Economy”, the region´s premier tourism educational and networking event will make great emphasis on the development of inventive and novel tourism-related programs that will help drive business to the Caribbean.
The Committee of Affiliate Members of the World Tourism Organization, in collaboration with the Government of Argentina and the Argentine affiliate members, will hold the Leadership Forum of Advisers in Buenos Aires from September 30 to October 1 to stress again the importance of private sector in international tourism development.
The forum is attended by practically all the members of the Business Council of the Affiliate Members, and features prominent tourism industry figures who gather together to discuss the most important issues for the future of tourism-related enterprises in a changing world. This meeting is of special interest for the WTO Business Council, but Affiliate Members from the Education and Destination sectors will also be interested in participating.
