Norwegian Cruise Line has inked a multi-year deal with the Port of Los Angeles, which includes measures designed to support the port’s clean air initiatives.
The grounding of a cruise liner in Antarctic waters on Wednesday appears to have been handled without damage either to the environment or to passengers, according to Grant Munro, Manager of the Falkland Islands non-governmental organization, Falklands Conservation, which is an associate member of the International Association of Antarctic Cruise Organizations ( IAATO).
Terry Dale, president and CEO of the Cruise Lines International Association, said that CLIA-member lines are seeing an increase in honeymoon and wedding cruise business, and that they have accordingly expanded their offerings.
Silversea Cruises will undertake a major internal restructuring initiative of its top executives, the company said recently. Albert Peter, CEO since 2001, will transition to deputy chairman of Silversea Leisure and Travel, an affiliate company based in Monaco and headed by Manfredi Lefebvre, chairman of Silversea Cruises Holding.
SeaDream Yacht Club has revealed it will not return to South America for the 2007-2008 winter season due to what it termed a multitude of unexpected operational challenges encountered during its inaugural season in Brazil and Argentina.
Costa Cruises will soon open the books on its cruises from China on the Costa Allegra to the rest of the world. The sailings, which have been marketed in China, will also be made available to the U.S. market in the next few weeks, Costa said.
