Carnival Corp. Chairman Micky Arison has asked President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to encourage the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to revise the travel advisory to Mexico.

Crystal Cruises is expanded its “All Inclusive-As You Wish” onboard credit offer to include most of its cruises in 2009 and most of 2010. With the program, guests receive a shipboard credit of up to $2,000 per couple for most 12-day voyages and up to $1,000 per couple for much shorter cruises.

Azamara Cruises offers pre-packaged shore excursions on select sailings in Europe and Asia. The packages offer a 5 percent savings over the retail value of the tours. As both 694-guest Azamara ships make their way to Europe for the 2009 season, the company has opened shore excursion packages for sale, including a new two-day port package option.

Windstar Cruises will open its call center on Sundays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Pacific time due to recent increased volume. Booking volume on April 27 showed an increase of 23 percent over any previous day in 2009.

Celebrity Cruises will mark its 11th season sailing in South American in December 2010. The season will include visits to 30 ports in 13 countries. Celebrity opened its winter 2010-11 Panama Canal and South America cruises and cruise-tours for sale on April 30.

Carnival Cruise Lines extended its cancellation of all port calls in Mexico through June 15. Sixteen cruises that were scheduled to stop in Mexico will be put on modified itineraries. Carnival is giving passengers the option of rescheduling their cruise for a later date through the end of 2010.
