A lower loonie may be good news for many Canadian businesses but, over time, consumers may see prices creep up for those popular vacations to warmer climates, and fewer reasons to shop online or in the U.S.

Grupo Aeromexico transported one million 495 thousand passengers in December; a 16.9% year-on-year increase and the year's highest monthly growth rate thus far. Domestic passengers increased 14.0%, while international passengers increased 23.3%.

Brazil has imposed a hefty six percent increase on the surcharge paid by its citizens when making credit cards purchases overseas. The increase, which went into effect on Saturday, raised the tax from 0.38 percent to 6.38 percent.
