Continental Airlines announced that it has entered into an agreement with LiveTV, L.L.C. (LiveTV) that will allow Continental to offer 36 channels of live, in-flight satellite-based television programming provided by DIRECTV(R), the satellite television provider in U.S., at every seat on Continental’s new generation aircraft. The service is expected to be available to customers on flights operating within the continental United States beginning in January 2009.
Air Canada announced it is further expanding its Ottawa service starting in May, adding four new markets with nonstop flights to and from the capital region and increasing the number of available seats by 19 percent over last summer.
TAM has expanded the Easy Web Check-in service offered on the company’s domestic flights to serve passengers on flights to Caracas, Venezuela; Santiago, Chile; Cochabamba, Bolivia; Cordoba, Argentina; and Asuncion and Ciudad del Este, Paraguay.
Air Jamaica is making its Orlando service daily, effective March 9. The flight offers Orlando residents, as well as travelers from Northern Florida, a centrally located flight option, and the only nonstop flight from Orlando to Jamaica.
Toronto-based Porter Airlines is expanding into the U.S. market with seven daily roundtrip flights between Toronto City Centre Airport (TCCA) and Newark Liberty International Airport starting March 31, 2008. Weekend service consists of two Saturday roundtrips and three Sunday roundtrips.
Copa Airlines, subsidiary of Copa Holdings, S.A., announced that it will offer new service from Panama and connecting cities in Latin America to Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, beginning March 10.
