Air Jamaica is offering sale fares from selected gateways in the U.S. to Kingston or Montego Bay and Barbados. The one-way sale fares are good for departure on Dec. 8 and Dec. 9 and are combinable with any available fare for the return trip to the U.S. Government taxes and fees are additional.
Air Canada and Jazz have reported a record consolidated load factor of 77.6 percent for the month of November, according to preliminary traffic figures. The result was an increase of 1.9 percentage points over its 75.7 percent load factor in November 2007.
Delta Air Lines reported November traffic results for both Delta and Northwest operating units. Delta’s system traffic in November 2008 decreased 4.9 percent versus November 2007 on a capacity decrease of 5.3 percent.
JetBlue Airways Corporation reported that its traffic in November decreased 7.8 percent from November 2007, on a capacity decrease of 6.3 percent. Load factor for November 2008 was 75.7 percent, a decrease of 1.3 points from November 2007. JetBlue’s preliminary completion factor was 99.4 percent and its on-time performance was 82.7 percent. JetBlue’s preliminary passenger revenue per available seat mile for the month of November increased 5 percent year over year.
Premier of Nevis, Joseph Parry and the residents of Nevis celebrated the return of LIAT’s flight to the island, in a grand ceremony at the Nevis Airport last week. Due to the personal intervention of the Premier, assisted by the Nevis Tourism Authority, LIAT began their Dash 8 service of Flight 507 departing Nevis daily at 1:50 pm for Antigua. This flight now makes it possible to connect with flights to the region and the UK directly from Nevis.
Lufthansa is launching Lufthansa Italia, an airline in Italy that will have an initial fleet of six aircraft, the German carrier announced on Wednesday.
