US Airways announced that it will launch daily nonstop flights between its hub at Charlotte Douglas International Airport in Charlotte, N.C., and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, beginning Dec. 2, pending final approval from the Brazilian government.
After being unanimously elected on board by the grouping’s existing 10 member airlines, which include some of the best and biggest names in the industry, S7 will become part of Oneworld, offering the alliance’s full range of services, benefits and fares, during 2010.
Air Jamaica is celebrating 10 years of service to Grenada, and marked this important milestone with festivities this week in both New York and Grenada. Air Jamaica representatives, along with Grenada’s Consul General Hon. Derrick James, kicked off the celebration with a gate-side ribbon cutting ceremony last week at New York’s JFK Airport, Terminal 4, just before the anniversary flight departed for Grenada.
AeroMexico has released flight schedules for its service between New Orleans and Mexico City, which begins July 7. The flights will be the first regularly scheduled international air routes for New Orleans since Hurricane Katrina.
AeroMexico reaffirmed its commitment to bring international service back to New Orleans. Beginning on July 7, the airline plans to provide six weekly non-stop flights on Sunday to Friday between New Orleans and Mexico City with convenient connecting service to San Pedro Sula, Honduras.
Continental Airlines announced that it will launch daily nonstop flights between its Houston hub at Bush Intercontinental Airport and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and through flight service between New Orleans and Rio de Janeiro beginning August 1, 2009. Effective today, the airline has made seat inventory available for sale in preparation for the start of service.
