GOL Linhas Aereas Inteligentes S.A. and Iberia have announced that the companies have signed a codeshare agreement. The companies are also evaluating the possibility of linking their frequent flyer programs –GOL’s SMILES and Iberia’s Plus.
Caribbean Airlines newly appointed Chief Executive Officer Captain Ian Brunton Tuesday announced new changes to the airline’s top management. At an internal meeting organized for all staff at its head office at Piarco, Captain Brunton explained the company was seeking to streamline its operations and that this would start from the very top.
TAM reports growth of 8.6 percent in domestic demand, while domestic supply grew by 7.4 percent compared with the same period in 2008. With this, TAM’s load factor increased by 0.8 percentage points compared to September 2008 and presented a strong recovery of 2.6 percent compared to August of 2009, reaching 65.4 percent.

Effective Nov. 1, Lufthansa-related U.K. holding company LHBD Holding Limited (LHBD) will buy another 20 percent stake in British Midland PLC (bmi). These shares are currently held by the SAS Group (SAS). Consequently LHBD will hold 100 percent in bmi. Under the terms of the agreement LHBD will acquire the 20 percent stake for approximately GBP19 million.
