With recent approval from the U.S. Department of Transportation, US Airways customers will be able to enjoy expanded travel between the United States and destinations in Central and South America, thanks to a new code-share agreement between TACA Airlines and US Airways beginning Jan. 12, 2010.
American Airlines is launching its new Wi-Fi Widget that enables customers to identify Wi-Fi-equipped flights 24 hours prior to departure. The tool allows travelers to determine if their American Airlines flight will be scheduled with Wi-Fi-enabled aircraft. Customers can also embed the Wi-Fi Widget in their own blogs, websites, and social network sites.
American Eagle Airlines, the regional affiliate of American Airlines, began nonstop jet service from Miami International Airport (MIA) to Charleston, S.C. and Knoxville, Tenn., as well as to Eleuthera and Treasure Cay in the Bahamas. New service to Governor’s Harbour, Bahamas, begins Nov 20.
