Irish airline Ryanair on Monday increased its profit forecast for the year after posting a narrower-than-expected third-quarter loss as fares fell less than earlier projected.
Statements are indicating that the proposed transatlantic venture between British Airways, American Airlines and Iberia has moved closer to securing regulatory approval in Europe.
Continental Airlines is adding two flights between Newark and London Heathrow this year. On March 27, Continental will add a fourth daily flight to the route. On Oct. 30, the carrier will add a fifth.
LAN Peru, an affiliate of LAN Airlines, will offer 4 flights per week to Lima, Peru out of San Francisco. Flights will begin July 1 of this year, flying on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
To celebrate its 61st Blue City, JetBlue Airways has announced an introductory $99 sale fare each way between Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, and New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) or Boston’s Logan International Airport. Travel must take place between May 8 and June 12, 2010.
JetBlue on Jan. 29 will begin transitioning to a new reservation system. The airline said that the new system will allow it to serve its customers better, but the conversion is complex. As a result, all of its reservations and booking services will be unavailable from 12 p.m. EST on Friday, Jan. 29 to Saturday afternoon, Jan. 30.
