United Airlines said it will add service to 13 cities starting June 9 out of its hubs in Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington. Six additional cities will have convenient access to Chicago and the world.
American Airlines said it is continuing to work on strengthening its global network through its oneworld alliance partnerships. In recent days, American said it has achieved key milestones with its oneworld partners aimed at enhancing competition and customer benefits in the trans-Atlantic and trans-Pacific markets.
Air Europa officially launched the new London Gatwick to Lima service, via Madrid. The program of three weekly departures to the Peruvian capital follows the successful introduction of the summer and winter schedules, as well as twice daily flights from London Gatwick to Madrid in March 2009.
Air Jamaica’s “Escape the Chill” Sale gives travelers from Baltimore and Orlando a chance to take advantage of special savings, while New York travelers have until Feb. 28 to purchase their tickets. All fares are roundtrip and government taxes and fees are additional.
Jamaica’s tourism industry continues to demonstrate positive outlook in the country’s economy, with Jet Blue’s inaugural flight from Orlando, Florida to the Sangster International Airport, Montego Bay, on Monday with 65 passengers on board.
Barbados will soon have a direct non-stop flight from South America. Starting Summer 2010, GOL, the second largest airline in Brazil, will operate a Boeing 737 from Sao Paulo to Bridgetown once a week on Saturdays, with same-plane connections to Buenos Aires, Argentina and connections to Rio de Janeiro at no additional cost.
