Copa Airlines, a subsidiary of Copa Holdings SA, announced new service direct from Panama to the Caribbean island of St. Martin, beginning Dec. 18, 2010.

This winter, Air Canada and Air Canada Vacations will boost capacity and frequency to offer seven new non-stop routings and an expanded choice of popular holiday sun destinations, including 48 additional flights a week to the U.S., the Caribbean, Mexico and Costa Rica. Air Canada flights are available now on the airline’s website, while all-inclusive holiday packages are available for purchase from Air Canada Vacations at www.aircanadavacations.com  or by contacting travel agents in Canada.

American Airlines has launched codesharing on flights operated by GOL Airlines between Sao Paulo and Salvador, Belem, Brasilia, Curitiba, Fortaleza, Manaus, Natal, Porto Alegre and Recife, as well as between Rio de Janeiro and Porto Alegre.

JetBlue Airways has introduced its newest tailfin livery design, “Barcode,” on the latest aircraft to join its fleet. The Airbus A320, appropriately named “All Blue Can Jet,” was unveiled to hundreds of customers and All-You-Can-Jetters at its home port of John F. Kennedy International Airport, Terminal 5. Barcode is the ninth tailfin design introduced by the company since it began flying in February 2000.

American Airlines will begin three-day-a-week service between Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW), and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (GIG), starting Dec. 16. The seasonal service will run through April 4, 2011, and then resume for the summer season between June 9, 2011, and Aug. 22, 2011.

United Airlines and Continental Airlines said that they have reached agreements to lease 18 pairs of take-off and landing slots (roundtrip flights) during peak and off-peak travel times and certain related facilities to Southwest Airlines at Newark Liberty International Airport. The agreement is intended to address United States Department of Justice concerns related to Continental’s proposed merger with United.
