Delta Air Lines will launch a sixth nonstop frequency between Atlanta and Brazil's capital city, Brasilia, on May 31. Delta operates flights between Atlanta and Brasilia using a Boeing 757-200 with capacity for 162 passengers -- 15 in First Class and 147 in Economy Class.

Days before the deadline for a notice of closure of the largest aviation merger in the Caribbean, Caribbean Airlines has finalized its acquisition of Air Jamaica. The deal was made official at the Office of the Prime Minister in St. Clair, Port-of-Spain, Trinidad.

Frontier Airlines is offering low fares for travel between June 1 and June 14. Fares start at $59 one way. Tickets must be purchased by May 23. Some sample fares: Salt Lake-Denver, $59; Milwaukee-New Orleans, $93; and Kansas City-New York/LGA, $139.

COPA Airlines is already exploring the possibility of increasing the number of weekly flights to the Bahamas, although the airline is still weeks away from its inaugural flight to Nassau from Panama City. 

New York's hometown airline, JetBlue Airways, announced plans to expand its award-winning service and in-flight experience to its fifth destination in the Dominican Republic and its 67th BlueCity with the addition of La Romana, subject to receipt of government approval.

On May 31, 2011, 34 Italian-based Travel Agents will arrive in Freeport aboard the Blue Panorama Airlines Boeing 767 Jet from Milan, Italy as part of the Alpitours charter program. The program, now in its second year, has been extended by an additional eight weeks to a total of 14 weeks this year. It is expected to deliver approximately 1500 vacationers, arriving 10:30 p.m. on Tuesdays over fifteen flight rotations through September 6th, 2011.
