United Airlines and its regional partners will operate the new routes with a mix of mainline and regional aircraft. The newly announced and previously launched services are consistent with United's previously announced 2012 capacity guidance.

The new direct flights will depart from Guarulhos to Montevideo (Uruguay), Asuncion (Paraguay) and Santa Cruz de La Sierra (Bolivia).

Colombia's civil aviation authority has approved new direct flights routes from Bogota to London and Cartagena to Toronto. Colombia's largest airline Avianca will start operating daily nonstop flights between Bogota and London, without having to change in Madrid or Frankfurt.

United Airlines has announced details about the induction of the new Boeing 787 Dreamliner into its fleet in the coming year. The airline is scheduled to take delivery of its first Dreamliner in late September.
