LATAM Airlines Group S.A. and its subsidiaries, the leading airline group in Latin America, today reported its preliminary monthly traffic statistics for September 2012 compared to September 2011.

As part of its £5 billion investment program to make travel more comfortable and convenient for customers, British Airways is trialing a new service which will allow its customers to use an automatic check-in service. The service would change the future of airline check-in, as it is known today.

The International Council of Tourism Partners (ICTP) announced that Jet Airways has joined the growing alliance as an associate member. Jet Airways, based in Mumbai, India, commenced its operations in May 1993.

Competition for leisure travelers will increase with Air Canada's planned formation of an integrated leisure group, combining the activities of its tour operator business, Air Canada Vacations, with its new low-cost leisure airline to be launched in 2013.
