GOL Linhas Aereas Inteligentes S.A., in association with the Ceara state government, said it is launching direct flights between Pinto Martins Airport, in Fortaleza, and Ezeiza International Airport, in Buenos Aires, beginning on May 10. GOL has 77 flights per week between Argentina and Brazil.

Bahamian national carrier Bahamasair has resumed regularly-scheduled flights to the island of Mayaguana. Service officially returned on Monday, after a five-year hiatus in large part due to a runway that had fallen into disrepair on the island.

However, airfares remain relatively high for peak season but at an all-time low for non-peak. One way fares from New York to Guyana start at $325.
