In an effort to transform Yahoo! Travel into a comprehensive online travel guide, Yahoo! Inc. has introduced a suite of new products.

The company´s www.travel.yahoo.com has launched a new Trip Planner Beta, which enables users to create, tag, share and print customized trip itineraries, drawing upon content from Yahoo! Travel or from anywhere on the Web.

As per the information available, Yahoo has spent the past 18 months honing its new Trip Planner service. The service is free, yet Yahoo hopes to make money from advertising, as well as revenue generated when consumers book travel.

“At Yahoo! Travel, we want to help travelers find, use and share the knowledge needed to make the most of their trips,” said James Slavet, general manager of Yahoo! Marketplace, Travel and Autos.

“The launch of Trip Planner and our expanded community and content offerings are just the beginning of our plans to build the ultimate online travel resource,” said Slavet.

With new features, consumers are allowed to create a customized trip itinerary using the comprehensive information about hotels, attractions and restaurants found in Yahoo! Travel Guides.
