Wizz Air Opens the Riga Market

Wizz Air announced that it would enter the Latvian market by opening three new routes from Riga, starting from 28 March 2010. The initial network will include thrice weekly services to London Luton, Oslo Torp and two flights a week to Turku.
Krisjanis Peters, Chairman of the Board of RIGA International Airport, said: “We are gratified that one of the fastest growing airlines in the Central and Eastern Europe is commencing operations at RIGA International Airport.
Important preconditions to our cooperation were the advantageous geographical position of Riga and our new tariff policy, which is one of the friendliest among the airports of the European capitals. I am convinced that our business relationship will be mutually productive and in the future will enable Wizz Air to expand its geography of flights from RIGA International Airport.”
