Waterfront Villa Complex Is Set to Open in St. Lucia in 2007

The Landings, a $165 million villa resort development project on the north shore of Rodney Bay here, will break ground in November with the first phase slated to open in February 2007.

The 19-acre waterfront site will include yacht moorings and slips; a beach club; water sports facilities; a lounge; helicopter transfers to/from major airports and nearby islands; a restaurant; a fitness club and a spa; concierge services; swimming pools; tennis courts; and a reception area, as well as 500 rooms in 228 one-, two- and three-bedroom villa units.

The units are placed in a rental pool when not occupied by owners; rates have not yet been set.

Chairman of The Landings´ board of directors is Craig Barnard, head of St. Lucia-based Sunswept Resorts, which includes the Body Holiday at LeSport and Rendezvous St. Lucia. Sunswept will manage The Landings.

Properties at The Landings will provide accommodations for some of the 40,000 visitors expected to attend the 2007 World Cricket Cup matches, which will be held at Beausejour, St. Lucia´s new cricket ground.
