VisitBritain Appoints New CEO
VisitBritain, the national tourist office for England, Scotland and Wales, tapped Sandie Dawe as CEO. Dawe was VisitBritain’s deputy chief executive. Christopher Rodrigues, VisitBritain chairman, will now relinquish his executive duties to Dawe.
Mrs. Dawe joined the British Tourist Authority, VisitBritain’s predecessor organization, in 1991 from the London Tourist Board. She held a number of posts in communications, policy, marketing and strategy.
Last year, Mrs. Dawe was honored by Queen Elizabeth II with the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire for her services to tourism.
