Virgin Galactic Taps 45 Agents for Space Sales

Virgin Galactic handpicked the first 45 Virtuoso travel sellers to be accredited space agents who will sell Virgin Galactic’s space travel programs in North America. In August 2006, Virgin named Virtuoso as its exclusive network of space agents in the U.S.

According to Carolyn Wincer, Virgin’s head of astronaut sales, the agents were selected, out of 120 who applied, for their “adventurous and entrepreneurial spirit” and their proven credentials as sellers of experiential travel.

The space agents will begin training in March in preparation for selling trips on Virgin’s SpaceShipTwo, which is expected to begin suborbital flights in late 2008.
