Viñales’ potentials in ecological tourism are praised

Havana._ The Viñales Valley in Pinar del Rio, Cuba’s westernmost province, has everything it takes to develop nature tourism.

Declared by UNESCO as Cultural Landscape of Mankind, the location is blessed with the largest cave systems on the island and in the Antilles.

Among its many caves, Cueva del Indio (The Indian’s Cave), run through by the San Vincente River, is one outstanding case in point. Cueva de Jose Miguel (Jose Miguel’s Cave), and not far from there the Gran Cueva de Santo Tomas (St. Thomas’ Great Cave) –with 46 kilometers of explored territory into it- also stand out.
