Venezuela’s Aero Paraguana to Begin Suriname Flights

As part of tourism agreements between Venezuela and Suriname, a small airline from Venezuela, Aero Paraguana, will commence service to Suriname from November 27, according to the manager of the airline, Venancio Polanco.

Polanco said that Suriname is a unique destination with a good tourism product, such as hotels, food and attractions.

The Venezuelan carrier will fly twice a week from Paraguana, Venezuela, to Paramaribo, the capital of Suriname on Mondays and Thursdays, offering 126 seats, of which eight will be first class, said Polanco.

The Paraguana Peninsula of Venezuela is in close proximity to Aruba and Curacao in the Dutch Antilles, which has close ties to Suriname, and the Josefa Camejo International Airport, the principal airport of Paraguana, is served by Insel Air and Tiara Airlines of the Dutch Antilles, and Conviasa and three other Venezuelan carriers.

It appears that the Venezuelan carrier is hoping to connect the Aruba and Curacao market with Suriname as well. This new route aims to strengthen tourism between Venezuela and Suriname.
