USVI Closes Atlanta Sales Office

The U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Tourism closed its Atlanta sales office this week as part of a cost-savings move toward making all U.S. offices virtual.

The Los Angeles and Chicago offices closed in 2007, and the offices in Miami, New York and Washington will shut down when the leases expire, according to Beverly Nicholson Doty, the USVI’s tourism commissioner.

“Our strategy of establishing virtual, mobile sales teams not only increases our effectiveness in selling the destination to potential visitors, but also creates an opportunity for substantial savings for the U.S. Virgin Islands,” the commissioner said.
