The Travel Institute of the United States has expanded its product line to provide more targeted resources for home-based agents. The dramatic rise in the number of home-based agents and independent contractors has been similarly reflected in The Institute´s membership numbers and customer base.

In response to this growing constituency, The Travel Institute is offering new packages and products. Rather than reinvent the wheel, The Institute has combined some of its relevant content with established outside resources to present a comprehensive package to ensure success.

“In many ways the educational needs of home-based agents are the same as those who work for brick-and-mortar agencies,” says Maureen Kennedy, Travel Institute´s executive vice president and general manager. “However, there are unique skills and information home-based agents need to have that up-to-now we weren´t able to provide.”

To date the most successful new product has been a home-based edition of the popular Travel Introductory Program (TRIP). Resources include the best-selling Travel Career Development and Exploring the World Textbooks and Workbooks, a complimentary voucher for the TAP test, a discount on Sabre Personal Trainer, and Successful Selling Strategies audiotapes. The newest addition to this package is Kelly Monaghan´s Home-Based Travel book.

As the population of home-based agents continues to rise, The Travel Institute is dedicated to fulfilling their educational needs, whether through their own products or other recognized sources.
