US Airways temporarily amended its ticket and baggage policies for customers affected by Hurricane Ernesto. US Airways offered the revised policies, which apply to all customers flying August 28 through August 30 on any US Airways or US Airways codeshare flight traveling to or from Montego Bay, Kingston, Grand Cayman, Fort Lauderdale, Miami, West Palm Beach, Fort Myers and Key West.

US Airways service continued to operate to the affected destinations and customers could still make certain changes without incurring the standard change fee, advance reservation or ticketing requirements.

The entire itinerary was moved forward or delayed up to seven days from the scheduled origination date. Length of trip could not be changed, though.

Full value of wholly unused tickets could be applied toward the purchase of a fare to an alternate destination. Travel was supposed to originate within seven days of the scheduled origination date.

Itinerary changes were subject to booking code availability, and in certain cases, an additional collection fee. Customers were able to stand by for alternate flights without incurring the standby fee if a satisfactory alternate itinerary could not be confirmed.
