UNWTO Names Rifai as Interim Secretary-General

UNWTO Deputy Secretary General Taleb Rifai is now performing the duties of Secretary-General ad interim, in accordance with the decision taken by the UNWTO Executive Council last October, following the retirement of Francesco Frangialli.

Mr. Frangialli is returning to the French Cour des comptes (Court of Accounts) to resume the task of inspecting his country’s public administrations and enterprises. He is also now teaching tourism to students of the University of Paris/Sorbonne.
