UA Raises Fares by as Much as $30 Roundtrip

United Airlines has raised fares in the United States and Canada by up to $30 roundtrip, the latest in a series of fare hikes, fuel surcharges and fee increases.

It raised fares by $4 to $30 per roundtrip depending on mileage and competition from low-cost carriers.

The announcement came on the heels of massive flight cancellations triggered by safety concerns that kept scores of aircraft grounded and thousands of passengers stranded.
