Two Tobago Youngsters Jailed for Robbing German Tourist

A Tobago Court has sentenced two local youths each to two years´ hard labor for robbing a German tourist on the island. Both accused, 19-year-old Damien Robinson and 22-year-old Lindon Leecock, were sentenced by district magistrate Joan Gill.

The youths, when called upon, pleaded guilty to robbing a female German national, Emkei Lesmon. The incident reportedly occurred last Thursday at a house in Lambou, Tobago where the woman was a guest.

Reports say the women responded to a call at her door and, when she opened it, she was approached by one of the youths, Damien Robinson, who forced his way inside of her guest house.

Robinson was seen with a knife in his hand. He then proceeded to rob Lesmon of her handbag, which contained several personal documents. Robinson then made his escape in a waiting car driven by accomplice, Lindon Leecock. Later, police were led to a secluded area at the Orange Hill in Scarborough, Tobago where they recovered the handbag.
