Turks & Caicos Officials Issue Warning Against Drinking Water

The Turks and Caicos Ministry of Health and Human Services this week cautioned visitors and residents to drink only bottled or boiled water, according to local press reports.

The announcement follows last week’s re-opening of the Grand Turk Cruise Center, which has been shut since mid-March as health experts from cruise line operator Carnival Corp., in cooperation with local health officials, searched for the source of an outbreak of gastroenteritis among residents and some cruise-ship visitors.
