TUI Travel Forms New Enlarged Online Destination Services Sector
TUI Travel has decided to unite the structure of its Online Destination Services (ODS) sector. It will now be jointly led by Joan Vila and Wolfgang Bremer, as joint Sector Managing Directors, until Bremer’s retirement by the end of 2008.
TUI shared that the new ODS Sector will have two major business areas: B2B, focused on the business with tour operators, travel agents, cruise lines and other corporate customers, and B2C, including the online businesses selling directly to the final customer.
The B2B will have two different divisions: Hotelbeds and Portfolio Incoming Division (former TUI Incoming which includes TUI España).
Carlos Muñoz, former ODS Operations Director, will be the Hotelbeds Managing Director. Stefan Dapper, coming from L’tur (tour operator within the Group), will be the Portfolio Incoming division Managing Director.
In addition to company’s most recent acquisition, Asiarooms, the division will now include Laterooms, led by Chris Allen, Chris Morris, and Tony Walsh. This division also includes Hotelopia business led by Jordi Cerdo as Managing Director, who will also lead the development of Laterooms Spain.
The three divisions will be supported by sector functions based in Palma. The headquarters support functions for the Portfolio Incoming division will move from Hanover to Palma after a transition period.
