TUI AG Appoints Christoph R. Müller as Head of Hapagfly

Christoph R. Müller, 44, has been appointed the new chairman of Hapag-Lloyd Flug gesellschaft mbH (Hapagfly).

The supervisory board of the airline made this decision in its meeting today. At the same time Müller will join the board of TUI Deutschland GmbH, where he will be responsible for the Flight sector. It is intended to propose to the TUI AG supervisory board that Christoph Müller moreover be appointed as head of the Flight division at Group level.

As head of the Flight division Mr. Müller would be in charge of TUI Airline Management. Wolfgang John, the previous chairman of the Hapagfly board, will remain on the board. Friedrich Keppler will stay on as Hapagfly´s managing director in charge of Flight Operations, Operations Management and Engineering of the airline.

Christoph R. Müller started his career in 1989 with Lufthansa after training and studying in Cologne and Harvard. He went on to join Deutsche Airbus as Financial Director and then to Daimler Benz Aerospace as Director Financial Controlling before returning to Lufthansa in 1994 as Vice President Controlling. Müller subsequently gained further airline experience with Philippine Airlines, Sabena and Swissair.
