Trinidad & Tobago Launches Meeting Planners’ Guide
The Tourism Development Company of Trinidad and Tobago Limited (TDC), in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, officially launched the Trinidad and Tobago Meeting Planners' Guide on Wednesday, June 11, at MovieTowne, Port of Spain.
An initiative of the Trinidad and Tobago Convention Bureau, a unit within the TDC, the Guide offers a comprehensive and authoritative information resource for both international and local meeting planners.
Speaking at the launch of the guide, Yolande Selman, TDC’s acting chief executive officer, lauded the initiative which includes a directory of meeting facilities, as well as information on local sites and attractions and a destination guide.
“The Trinidad and Tobago Meeting Planners’ Guide signals to the international tourism industry that we are serious about the business of tourism as we continue to position ourselves as the destination of choice for both business and leisure travelers," Selman said as she addressed the gathering of tourism stakeholders at the launch.
The attractive layout of the publication makes for an easy read and takes the user seamlessly through meeting-specific information for event planning professionals to general destination highlights and more.
Established in 2009, the Trinidad and Tobago Convention Bureau (TTCB) is mandated to boost business tourism arrivals by increasing the number of meetings and conferences held in Trinidad and Tobago.
The bureau also forms part of the overall marketing strategy to sell Trinidad and Tobago as an international tourism destination.
