Travel-Planning Specialist “Best in Spain” Launches Service in UK
British visitors can now get more out of the UK’s favorite destination thanks to Best In Spain, which is offering its unique services to UK travelers for the first time.
The top travel-planning specialist, which tailor-makes itineraries that go beyond the usual sights and activities to connect visitors to local experiences, is building on its runaway success with travelers from the USA since launching in 2011.
Ron Otto, the Madrid-based founder is the man on the ground for visitors, using his inside knowledge to create unforgettable memories for his clients – business travelers and holidaymakers.
From securing a table for two at El Celler de Can Roca in Girona, which snatched the title Best Restaurant in the World from Denmark’s Noma and where it’s virtually impossible to get a reservation without 12 months’ notice, to arranging an exclusive tour of a stellar yet little-known private art collection, Ron is dedicated to championing Spain as one of the most rewarding destinations to visit in Europe.
Best in Spain is constantly hunting down new experiences that get to the soul of this country. Recent additions to the ever-expanding list of inspiring suggestions include a Michelin-standard cooking lesson at The Kitchen Club in Madrid, which has rare access to some of the best chefs in town, featuring tutors such as Diego Guerrero of Diverxo. Plus, Best In Spain can now put clients behind the wheel of an F3 racing car, reaching speeds of up to 230mph on the Ascari private members club track near Ronda.
The travel-planning service covers a trip from start to finish. It begins with a conversation to understand the traveler’s desires, then a specially created draft itinerary is proposed, including inspiring recommendations about the best places to stay and eat and activities to enjoy that are perfectly suited to the client’s taste.
The traveler chooses their preferred suggestions and Best In Spain makes all the reservations and bookings. The final itinerary is delivered by email, in PDF or iBooks format and Ron is available to help and advice throughout the journey.
Ron caught the travel bug aged six, when he was on a sailing trip around the Caribbean with his family. Ever since, he’s been seeking out special places and lesser-known experiences, even as a business traveler, during which time he spent several years as executive assistant to the fashion designer Donatella Versace.
When Ron moved to Madrid, he discovered that his adopted home was full of interesting cultural contradictions. He decided to turn his love of Spain and talent for getting under the skin of a destination into a business. Ron now helps visitors uncover the country’s hidden delights through Best In Spain.
