Travel Agents Expect Lift in Business from AeroMexico Service

Local travel agents are gearing up for an increased interest in Mexico as a vacation destination as AeroMexico begins nonstop flights from Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport today.

Freedom Tours LLC owner Annie Schroeder said demand has always been high for trips to Mexico and the two-hour direct flight to Mexico City will make it easier than ever for locals to visit the country.

Designer Travel agent Kathy Galliand said she already has a family of 16 booked for a trip to Puerto Vallarta on Mexico’s Pacific coast for the Thanksgiving weekend, a trip that would have been too expensive without a direct flight to Mexico City.

With swine flu fears subsiding, Harmony Adventures Inc. owner Janine Guichard said the timing couldn’t be better for the airport to reconnect with Mexico.
