Tiger Woods to Design Golf Course Community in Dubai

Having conquered many of the top golf courses in the world, golf great Tiger Woods is now ready to design a course of his own.

Woods, through his company Tiger Woods Design, has teamed with Tatweer, a company based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to create Al Ruwaya, the first golf course designed by Woods.

The course will be the centerpiece of “The Tiger Woods - Dubai,” an exclusive golf community with a professionally staffed golf academy; a 60,000-square-foot clubhouse; an 80-suite boutique hotel for VIP guests; 300 luxury villas and 20 private homes; and a community retail area.

As planned, Al Ruwaya will be a 7,700 yard, par-72, championship-quality course. Wood’s 25.3 million-square-foot golf course community is scheduled for completion in late 2009 and will be located in Dubailand, a retail and entertainment complex under development by Dubai Holding, Tatweer’s parent company.
