Three Mexico Properties Make List of Top Clothing-Optional Resorts
TripAdvisor this week released its top-10 list of clothing-optional resorts, and three were in Mexico, including the No. 1 pick.
Hidden Beach Resort - Au Naturel Club in Mexico’s Riviera Maya topped the list.
The resort “makes a clothing-optional vacation a truly luxurious, and liberating, experience,” TripAdvisor said. The luxury is reflected in the price: an average nightly rate of $541.
Cabanas Copal in Tulum, ranked No. 7 on TripAdvisor’s list, is considerably
cheaper with an average nightly rate of $95 per night. “Relaxing in a seaside
Caribbean cabana is reason enough to head to Cabanas Copal, but candlelit
evenings in this eco-friendly tropical retreat make this in-the-buff destination
even more appealing,” TripAdvisor said.
Punta Serena in Tenacatita was No. 10 on the list. “Featuring hot tubs
overlooking the water, beautiful beaches and a lively bar and pool, this au
natural resort is a Mexican gem,” said TripAdvisor. Punta Serena’s average
nightly rate is $240.
The top 10, in order, were Hidden Beach -- Au Naturel Club; Garden of Eden
Resort, Isla Solarte, Panama; Living Waters Spa, Desert Hot Springs, Calif.;
Terra Cotta Inn, Palm Springs, Calif.; Caliente Caribe Resort and Spa, Puerto
Plata, Dominican Republic; Sorobon Beach Resort, Bonaire; Cabanas Copal; Club
Orient Resort: St. Maarten; Grand Lido Negril Resort & Spa, Negril, Jamaica; and
Punta Serena.
TripAdvisor, a publisher of user-generated hotel reviews, said the picks were
based on traveler popularity and the opinions of TripAdvisor editors.
